Braes of Balvonie
During August 2010, the Highlands was home to Scotland’s Housing Expo - the first-ever event of its kind in Scotland.
Expo showcased 52 unique, architect-designed homes, with affordability, sustainable materials and low-cost eco-friendly energy systems at the heart of each home. The Expo site will become a unique development – a contemporary village spread over 5 hectares at Balvonie Braes, south of Inverness, just off the A9.
HHA was the developer on 27 of the 52 homes. Twin peaks and the Copper house have been sold. View the houses for sale . The houses are a mix of terraced, detached and semi-detached properties, delivering great value for money and using eco-friendly materials and heating systems designed to save money on energy bills and reduce the carbon footprint. A number of the gardens are designed by Geraldine and Wayne Hemingway.
The development is bordered by a pretty woodland path to the east, and the houses are linked by paths and attractive outdoor spaces with benches and open grassy areas. The Green is the focal point, lying at a natural intersection of walkways and cycle paths, where friends and neighbours can meet to socialise. For the children, there’s an exciting play area – a miniature landscape with a hillside and beach and a four-berth hammock. These relaxed, imaginative outdoor areas increase the sense of community surrounding this very special development.
This is a marvellous opportunity for homebuyers to purchase a unique architect-designed property in a community of the future that uses sustainable materials and the latest eco-friendly systems to achieve low running costs and a desirable lifestyle.
