WHAT WE DO

The Highland Housing Alliance is a not for profit development company that has been set up to help build more new affordable and private houses for people in the Highlands.

We work with The Highland Council, Housing Associations, Landowners and Private Developers to ensure as many housing sites as possible are used for new homes. We also work with Housing and Regeneration Directorate and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to link public agencies' efforts in new housing provision. The Highland Small Communities Housing Trust and the Highland Housing and Community Care Trust are also members.

We are especially interested in promoting housing for people who are currently priced out of many new build and second hand properties, but who have little chance of a traditional public sector rented house because of demand. Young couples, older people and job movers are often in a very difficult position and their housing options are few and far between. We believe that a greater supply of good quality housing at reasonable prices - rent or to buy - will make a difference for the people of the Highlands.
